Keeper Cuts is operated by Independent Development and Coordination Pty Ltd (ABN 98 656 723 992), a company based in New South Wales, Australia. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean that company. We handle personal information under the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy explains what we collect, why, who sees it, where it goes, and your rights.
The short version
- What: when you enquire, your name, email, what kind of client you are and your message. If you become a client, also your footage, brand details and invoicing details.
- Why: to reply to you, quote, edit your videos, deliver them and invoice you.
- Who sees it: our team. Cloudflare (United States) carries all traffic to this site, and emails you send us are handled by our email provider, Google (United States). We may use Anthropic's Claude AI (United States) to help us sort and reply to enquiries. Section 8 explains.
- If you don't give it: we can't reply without a working email address.
- Your rights: ask us for a copy, a correction or deletion, or make a complaint. See sections 13 and 14.
1. Contact
Email [email protected] for anything in this policy.
2. What we collect
When you enquire
- Your name, email address, the kind of client you are (creator, business, agency or other) and the message you write.
- Technical details our form records to stop spam and abuse: the time you sent it and your IP address.
- Anything you include when you email us directly.
When you're a client
- Contact and business details, and what you tell us about your brand, audience and goals.
- The footage, audio, logos and other files you send us, and the cuts and post copy we make from them. Your footage may show or name you and other people.
- Invoices, payments and our emails with you.
Recorded interview calls
We sometimes offer a free recorded video call so we can cut sample clips from your own story. We only record with your consent, which we ask for at the start of the call. We keep the recording and the sample cuts for you, and we don't publish them.
Public trend research
To keep up with what works in short-form video, we collect publicly available posts from platforms such as TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, including the creator's public name or handle, the caption and the video. We use a social media data service (ScrapeCreators) to find them, analyse them with AI (see section 7), and delete downloaded videos when each analysis ends. If you'd like us to stop including your public posts, email us.
Website visitors
This website sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics, advertising pixels or tracking scripts. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies to protect the site from bots and attacks. Like any website, our servers and Cloudflare keep technical logs (such as IP address, time and page requested) for security. When a page loads, your browser also fetches our fonts from Google Fonts, which shares your IP address and basic browser details with Google.
3. Sensitive information
We don't ask for sensitive information, such as health details, religion or sexual orientation. Footage sometimes shows it anyway, for example a gym or health story. We use what's in your footage only to edit and deliver your videos.
4. People in your footage
If your footage includes other people, we handle it on your behalf to make your videos. You're responsible for having their permission to film them and to publish the result.
5. Using a first name or brand name
You can enquire using just a first name or your brand name. If you become a client, we need your real details to invoice you.
6. How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiry, understand what you need and quote.
- To edit, deliver and revise your videos, and to send the messages that go with them.
- To invoice you, keep business and tax records and meet our legal obligations.
- To keep our website and systems secure, and to stop spam.
We use or share your information for another purpose only if you agree, if you'd reasonably expect it and it's related to the purposes above, or if the law allows or requires it.
7. AI and automated decisions
We use AI tools in three places. A person makes every decision about you.
- Sorting and replying to enquiries: we may send your name, any business name and your enquiry text to Anthropic's Claude AI (United States). Your email address and IP address are removed first. Claude suggests how good a fit your enquiry looks, on a 1–5 scale, and drafts a personal reply and interview questions for us to check. The score only helps us decide who to contact first. It doesn't decide whether we'll work with you or what you pay. Nothing is sent to you until a person has read it.
- Trend research: public posts we collect (section 2) are transcribed on our own computers, and frames are analysed by xAI's Grok model, accessed through Cursor (both United States). This doesn't involve decisions about you.
- Editing: we use AI-assisted tools for tasks such as transcribing speech for captions and reframing video. A person checks every cut before you see it.
If you'd like your enquiry handled without AI, say so in your message or email us.
8. Who we share it with
- Our team, and contractors who need it for their work and keep it confidential.
- Cloudflare, Inc. runs the network that delivers this website and protects it from attacks, and forwards email sent to keepercuts.com addresses. Everything you type into our form passes through Cloudflare.
- Google LLC provides our email, so emails you send us and our replies are stored by Google. Enquiries sent through our website form aren't emailed: we get a short alert with no details and read the enquiry in our CRM. Google also serves this site's fonts.
- Anthropic, PBC provides the Claude AI described in section 7. Anysphere, Inc. (Cursor) and xAI provide the AI used for trend research.
- ScrapeCreators (Web Scraping Guy LLC), the social media data service we use to find public posts for trend research.
- File-sharing services such as Google Drive, Dropbox or WeTransfer, when you send us footage that way or we share files with you. We also share sample cuts through a private link protected by Cloudflare Access, which may ask you to sign in with Google.
- Our professional advisers, such as our accountant or lawyer.
- Government agencies, courts or police, where the law requires or allows it.
We don't sell or rent your personal information.
9. Overseas
Our enquiry records and client records are kept on servers we operate in New South Wales, Australia. Some information goes overseas:
- United States: Cloudflare, Google, Anthropic, Cursor and xAI, as described in section 8.
- File-sharing services: these may store files in other countries, including the United States and the European Union, depending on the service.
Before we send personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure the recipient handles it consistently with the APPs.
10. Marketing
We don't add enquirers or clients to marketing lists. If we ever send you marketing, it will only be with your consent. It will identify us and include a free way to unsubscribe, which we'll act on within 5 business days. Emails about your enquiry or your work aren't marketing.
11. Storage, security and retention
- Only people who need your information for their work can access it.
- Enquiries that don't lead to work are deleted within 12 months of our last contact with you.
- Form messages our spam filter flags are set aside so we can recover a genuine enquiry, and deleted after 90 days.
- Your footage and working files are kept for the job, plus a short archive period we agree with you. After that we delete them. The finished cuts you receive are yours to keep.
- Invoices and payment records are kept for 7 years, as company and tax record-keeping laws require.
12. Data breaches
If a data breach is likely to cause serious harm to anyone affected, we'll tell them and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), following the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
13. Access, correction and deletion
Email [email protected] to ask for a copy of what we hold about you, to correct it or to have it deleted. Asking is free. We'll respond within 30 days and may need to confirm who you are first. If we can't do what you ask, for example because the law requires us to keep invoices, we'll tell you why in writing and how to complain.
14. Complaints
Contact us first at [email protected], and we'll reply within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner: oaic.gov.au, phone 1300 363 992.
15. Children
Keeper Cuts is for businesses and adults. If you're under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to contact us for you.
16. Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy when our practices or the law change, and the date at the top will change. If you're a current client, we'll email you about any important change before it takes effect.
